Warri Wolves set for "Super 4" clash Opener with Akwa United


Warri Wolves lock horns with Akwa United in 2016 Super
Four opener when the tournament begins on January 20 as
Kaduna host biggest Nigerian Professional Football outfits.

The first leg of the tournament will be held at the Ahmadu
Bello Stadium, Kaduna in January while the second leg of
the encounter will take place at The Nest of Champions in
Uyo from February 1-5, 2016.

League holders, Enyimba will battle it out with third placed
finisher, Nasarawa United on Friday for the second game of
the first leg after observing a break on Thursday.

In a statement released by the League Management
Company Chief Operating Officer, Salihu Abubakar said that
the late kick off is to encourage fans participate in the event
and not interfere with their support with the Home-based
Eagles in CHAN tournament in Rwanda.

"We have scheduled the late kick-off on that Friday to enable
Nigerians watch the Home-based Eagles play their Tunisian
counterparts in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda,” the statement read.

“We consider it as part of the development of the league for players in the NPFL to watch their team mates represent the country in international competitions. Seeing their mates will fire up their own aspiration to up their game and also be in a position to make the national team," said the LMC COO, Salihu Abubakar.

The last day of the tournament will feature Nasarawa United
and Akwa United in an early kick off at 2pm while the last
encounter will be between League Champions, Enyimba and
Warri Wolves scheduled at 5pm.

The Super Four have been organised to enable clubs that will
represent the country in continental games gain adequate
preparations and match fitness when the Caf Champions
Leagues starts in February.
