Vidal Sues "Sport Bild" for Alcohol Allegations

Bayern Munich star Arturo Vidal has launched a lawsuit
against SportBild following allegations he drank alcohol
during the club's winter training camp in Qatar.

On Tuesday night the German newspaper reported that Vidal had left the team's headquarters on several occasions in January and returned in an intoxicated state.

However, Vidal has now released a statement on his official
Twitter account strongly denying the claims.

He said: "I would like to say that the claims published today
in a German newspaper are absolutely false.

"My lawyers have already been instructed to initiate a legal
claim against the newspaper responsible for these lies.

"I'm 100 per cent committed to my team and preparing for
the rest of the season, which will be very important for all of
us.

"Thanks to my club for their support and also thanks to my
fans for their love as always."

Bayern Munich sporting director also issued a firm denial
and offered the player the club's complete backing.

"It is not the truth," he added. "Our relationship with Arturo
is very good and he told us that all the rumours are fake.

"The media is trying to build a situation that degrades us in
the Bundesliga. But the entire disturbance will make us
stronger as a team.

"As long as I am working here we will stand together if
someone is attacked by somebody. We will fight the
agitation."
