LMC set to INSPECT Confluence Stadium in Lokoja

The League Management Company will inspect facilities and equipment at the Kogi Confluence Stadium, Lokoja for the home ground of Niger Tornadoes ahead of the new season.

The returning Minna-based side has written a request to adopt Lokoja as its home ground as the Minna Township Stadium was found below standard.

Salihu Ababakar, LMC's Chief Operating Officer has informed Goal that the inspection will be conducted from February 11 to 12 and thereafter an approval will be issued.

"They (Niger Tornadoes) have written us about intentions to use Kogi Confluence Stadium as their home ground," Salihu told Goal .

"We (LMC) have to inspect the stadium facilities to find out if it meets the required standard.

"After the inspection we are going to give an approval for the venue as their (Tornadoes) home ground.

"For the inspection, we will do that on Thursday, February 11 and Friday February 12 before issuing our approval," he concluded.

The inspection procedure might be a mere formality after the
25,000-seater venue had previously hosted several rescheduled Nigerian league games including the 2014 title deciding clash between Kano Pillars and Enyimba. Pillars won narrowly 1-0 to retain the league diadem.

360 Metro sports  gathered that Abdullahi Biffo's side are already considering relocating to the Kogi State capital from February 15 in a bid to adjust to life in the ancient city of
Lokoja.

The Minna-based outfit will start their top flight campaign against Plateau United in Jos on February 21.
