Akwa United head coach Maurice Cooreman has hinted he
may still sign more quality strikers to boost his side’s
attack.
Cooreman admitted that chances created if they are not well
utilized may later haunt the team hence his resolve to
ensure that the Promise Keepers’ strikers are more
businesslike in front of goal.
“I am still looking for a gifted striker, one that can score
goals. We have been creating chances but we have not been
scoring most of them. If I get a good striker, I won’t hesitate
to sign him,” Cooreman told Goal.
He said that Akwa United’s performance at the ongoing
Super Four can still get better ahead of their clash versus
Warri Wolves on Wednesday where they chase a win.
The Belgian tactician also thumbed up the teams
participating in the tournament for the quality of play that
has made the championship a tight one.
“I want to praise the four teams for making the pre-season
tournament very tough. I want to tell other teams that they
can’t stop us from winning this because we have prepared
very well for it,” he concluded.
