#CHAN2016: Nigeria reveals players Jersey nos.

Nigeria have announced their squad numbers for 2016
African Nations Championship in Rwanda.

The Super Eagles will be making their second appearance at
the tournament, and have been zoned in Group C alongside
Niger, Guinea and Tunisia.

According to the squad list published by the Confederation of African Football on their website, Paul Onobi will wear the
revered No. 10 shirt when the competition gets underway.

The Sunshine Stars midfielder became a bit of a household
name following his brilliant display on his international debut in 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Swaziland.

The No. 10 jersey is associated with Chelsea's midfielder
Mikel Obi.

Tunde Adeniji will also be wearing a new number in the
coming campaign, with the forward taking on the vacant
No.9 from the Gbolahan Salami who pulled out of the
tourney.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Femi Thomas has been handed the
No.16 jersey, with Ikechukwu Ezenwa holding onto the No.1
shirt.

Austin Obaroakpo will wear the No.5 shirt vacated by
Solomon Kwambe while captain Chima Akas and
Bartholomew Ibenegbu have been given the No.3 and No.12
respectively.

Sunday Oliseh’s men will face Niger Republic in their
opening game on January 18 at the Stade Régional
Nyamirambo, Kigali.
