Alvaro Morata has signed a contract with Juventus, keeping
him with the Turin outfit until 2020.
Morata's existing deal had been due to expire in 2019, but
the latest agreement will see him remain contracted at
Juventus Stadium for a further 12 months.
The Spain international was a key figure as Juve retained the
Serie A crown last season, scoring 15 goals in 46
appearances in all competitions.
Morata has struggled to replicate that form this term, finding
the net just once in the league and losing his place in
Massimiliano Allegri's starting XI.
However, speaking last week, Allegri said: "Morata is an
extraordinary player and needs to remain calm.
"I ask a lot of him, but the same goes for the rest of the
team."
Morata joined Juve from Real Madrid in 2014 and was
subject to a buy-back clause, but it is not clear whether his
new contract will affect any such arrangement.
Juve sit fifth in Serie A and face high-flying Fiorentina on
Sunday.
