Official: West Brom sign Wigan Athletic's McClean

The Republic of Ireland international has agreed a three-year deal with the Baggies and manager Tony Pulis is hopeful the winger will rediscover his best form at the Hawthorns

West Brom have completed the signing of Wigan Athletic winger James McClean for an undisclosed fee.

The Republic of Ireland international has agreed a three-year deal at the Hawthorns after spending the past two seasons with the Championship side.

The 26-year-old has previous Premier League experience with Sunderland and manager Tony Pulis is hoping he can recapture his best form for the Baggies.

"He's got Premier League experience from his time with Sunderland," he told the club's website.
"James has had a couple of indifferent years with Wigan but he did well at Sunderland and we're very pleased to have him on board.

"I am absolutely confident that he can fulfil the potential to come back and be a big player for us.

"He's got pace, he's left-footed - so he gives us a good balance in the side - and he can score goals."
