The League body has announced the rescheduling of some matches and fixed dates for outstanding games due to Federation Cup and Warri Wolves Confederation Cup campaign.
In a statement to Goal, the Chief Operating Offier of the LMC, Salihu Abubakar said the league body had to make slight changes due to clash with the recent released Federation Cup timetable and Warri Wolves involvement in continent's club competition.
“NFF programs always take precedence over other football programs and it is in deference to this code that the LMC has adjusted its league schedules”, Abubakar said.
According to him, "postponed Match Day 3 fixtures involving Shooting Stars and Kano Pillars in Ibadan have been slated for Wednesday, May 6 while Dolphins and Warri Wolves will play on Thursday, May 7 in Port Harcourt are still involved in CAF Confederations Cup and have arrears of three games in the league, one of which comes up Thursday, May 7 against Dolphins FC in Port Harcourt.
"No changes have been made to the Match Day 8 fixtures which would still hold on Sunday, May 10 but the Match Day 9 fixtures have been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 17 while Match Day 10 fixtures are to be played on Sunday, May 20. Kick-off time for all games is 4pm," the statement read.
Abubakar further said, "The LMC warned that there may be need for further adjustments in view of Warri Wolves involvement on the continental and assured that all such changes would be made as the need arises and communicated accordingly."
