Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegriniadmits it has been a difficult week for his squad following back-to-back home defeats that have seriously dented the club's Premier League title hopes.
Pellegrini's men were humbled by Leicester City a fortnight ago, before Tottenham improved their own chances of winning the title by securing a dramatic victory at the Etihad Stadium last Sunday.
City travel to Chelsea for an FA Cup fifth round clash on Sunday as they embark on a crucial week which also features a Champions League knock-out tie in Kiev and the League Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley.
And Pellegrini insists that although his squad were not expecting to have suffered such a setback in the league, they will have learned some vital lessons.
"Yes, because we didn't expect to lose those two games in a row against Tottenham and Leicester," he told reporters when asked if it had been a testing week for the City squad. "It was not easy but when you have those defeats you must try to take important things from those defeats. We analyse why we didn't play well, which mistakes we made.
"It was a difficult week but a useful week and I hope in the next game we'll correct a lot of mistakes."
City find themselves fourth in the Premier League table following those two defeats, six points off top spot and six points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United.
They have taken just two points from six games against the current top five so far this season - goalless draws at the King Power Stadium and Old Trafford - but Pellegrini does not believe there is too much to be read into that poor run.
"I don't think there's a problem," he said. "In the last two games that we played... maybe the second half of Tottenham we played better. They had just one chance, the second goal, but I don't want to continue talking about that.
"I think it was not our normal team. We normally have a lot of possession, create chances and score goals so that's more worrying than one single score. This week we have worked to return to the team we normally are."
