Bayern Munich completes Tasci Loan Deal

Bayern Munich have completed the loan signing of Spartak
Moscow defender Serdar Tasci with an option to make the
deal permanent, the club confirmed on Monday.

Tasci, who is capped by the German national team, moved
to Spartak in 2013 and initially forced his way into the first-
team at the Russian club before struggling with injuries and
changes in the playing staff.

Before the spell with Spartak, the 28-year-old made his
name with Stuttgart, forcing his way into Joachim Low's
2010 World Cup squad and winning the 2006-7 Bundesliga
title.

And after signing the deal, Bayern sporting director Matthias
Sammer praised the defender's quality and the flexibility that
a short-term deal gives to the club, with regular centre-back
Jerome Boateng suffereing from a lengthy lay-off.

"We are glad that we have in the short term been given the
opportunity to bring a player like Serdar Tasci to Bayern,"
Sammer said.

"He is able, with his quality and experience to help us
immediately."

Tasci himself spoke positively about returning to Germany,
indicating that he is relishing the challenge of representing
Bayern and adding to his Bundesliga medal tally.

"I feel very good and am looking forward to the challenge. I
hope I can help the team," the 28-year-old said.
