Valenciafans booed Benzema with 'Valbuena chants'

Valencia fans taunted Karim Benzema with ‘Valbuena’
chants when the Real Madrid star was taken off during
Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Mestalla.

The provocation related to the legal case the France striker
is currently embroiled in over a sex tape allegedly involving
his international team-mate Mathieu Valbuena.

Benzema has been charged with conspiracy to blackmail,
although his lawyer says he played “no part” in a reported
attempt to extort money from Lyon’s Valbuena.

In the meantime, the French Football Federation have taken
the decision to indefinitely suspend the Madrid player from
representing the national team.

He opened the scoring against Valencia in the first half, but
the scores were level when he was replaced by Lucas
Vazquez after the break.

As Benzema trudged off the pitch, the home supporters -
who had earlier welcomed back the club's former coach
Rafael Benitez with affectionate songs - broke into repeated
chants of ‘Valbuena, Valbuena…’

Gareth Bale made it 2-1 for 10-man Madrid, who saw Mateo
Kovacic sent off, only for Paco Alcacer to grab an equaliser
for Gary Neville’s side.
