SUPER FOUR DAY 1 ROUND UP: WARRI WOLVES CAGE AKWA UNITED, NASARAWA UNITED HOLD ENYIMBA

WARRI WOLVES 1-0 AKWA UNITED
Warri Wolves began their LMC Super Four campaign on a
bright note with a narrow 1-0 defeat of Akwa United at the
Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Wednesday.

Kelvin Itoya’s lone strike in the 44th minute handed the
Seasiders the maximum point after a calamitous clearance
from Akwa United’s goalkeeper Olufemi Kayode.

The Uyo based outfit’s efforts to bounce back proved futile
as their attacking forays got repelled by Warri Wolves.

NASARAWA UNITED 1-1 ENYIMBA

Reigning NPFL kings, Enyimba were held to a 1-1 draw by
Nasarawa United in the second game of the LMC Super
Four.

Enyimba’s new signing Joseph Osadaiye put his side ahead
with a brilliant free kick in the 35th minute with the Solid
Miners leveled up through Philip Azango in the closing
stages of the game.

Warri Wolves lead the log with three points with Enyimba
and Nasarawa United occupying the second and third
position respectively with a point, while Akwa United sit at
the base of the table with no point.

Action resumes on Friday with Enyimba facing Akwa United,
while Warri Wolves try Nasarawa United for size.
