Manchester United are ready to spend up to £20 million to
secure a deal for Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand,
according to the Daily Star.
United manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly keen to bring
in the Saints defender after Ashley Young suffered a serious
groin problem that will keep him out for up to two months.
Young joins former Southampton left-back Luke Shaw on the
sidelines, leaving the Red Devils short at left-back. Matteo
Darmian and youngster Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have
filled in during recent games.
Bertrand, who moved to St Mary's for £10 million after a
successful loan spell from Chelsea, has become an integral
part of Ronald Koeman's plans.
