Nigeria's ex- internationals including former Super Eagles
Captain, Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha, Emmanuel Amuneke and
Daniel Amokachi will converge at the forthcoming Glo- CAF
Awards gala night coming up on 7th January in Abuja,
Nigeria.
Okocha distinguished himself with Einthract Frankfurt FC of
Germany, Fernabache of Turkey, Paris St Germain of France
and Bolton Wanderers of England and he is noted for his
stylish dribbles on the pitch. A two-time winner of the BBC
African Player of the Year, he was nominated for Legends
Award along with Ex-Moroccan International Mustapha
Hadji in the 2011 Glo-Caf Awards.
Daniel 'the bull ' Amokachi, ex- Super Eagles, ex -Everton
FC, Club Brugges and Besiktas FC and former assistant
Coach of the Super Eagles is another top star expected at
the event.
Also expected is Emmanuel Amuneke, a Nigerian international who played as a left winger for Super
Eagles, and is currently a coach. He recently led the
Nigerian U-17 side, Golden Eaglets to retain the FIFA U-17
World Cup in Chile. He represented Nigeria at the 1994
World Cup and played for Zamalek FC, Sporting Lisbon and
FC Barcelona.
Others are ex- Super Eagles defender, Celestine Babayaro,
his brother, Emmanuel Babayaro and Ex- Super Eagles
Winger, Folorunsho Okenla.
Former African Footballer of the year, Nwankwo Kanu and
Victor Nosa Nosa Ikpeba, are also expected to grace the
awards aptly tagged the African Oscars
All the ex-internationals will converge in Abuja where they
will have the opportunity to meet and interact with current
and ex-Internationals from different parts of Africa.
The 2015 Glo-Caf Awards will hold at the International
Conference Centre, Abuja on 7th January, 2016.
