Arsenal are set to tie up a deal to sign striker Aleksandr
Kokorin from Dynamo Moscow in January, according to
Russian newspaper Izvestia .
Kokorin is out of contract at the end of the season and will
have to halve his wages in order to extend his deal with his
current club, who are in experiencing serious financial
problems.
That has led to interest from Zenit in his signature but the
report claims Kokorin would prefer to join Arsenal and the
Gunners are negotiating a deal to be completed in the New
Year.
Dynamo hope to receive €6 million (£4.3m) for the 24-year-
old despite his contract status.
Kokorin made his debut for Dynamo in 2008 and his
impressive form during the 2012-13 season saw him join
Anzhi Makhachkala for €19m (£13.8m).
However, the newly wealthy club's budget was massively
reduced a short time later and without playing a game for his
new club due to injury, Kokorin was sold back to Dynamo.
He has scored four goals in eight league games this season,
with the Russian season currently in its winter break.
