Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State announced a cash
reward of five hundred thousand naira to each member of
the victorious Women's Federation Cup 2015 winning
Sunshine Queens on Monday evening.
Sunshine Queens defeated Bayelsa Queens 3-1 on penalties
to win the 2015 Federation Cup title - their first ever major
domestic trophy in 39 years.
Mimiko disclosed this at a special reception held in the
honour of the Akure Ladies at the Banquet Hall of the
government house in Akure.
At the dinner, the governor praised the team for doing the
state proud with their glorious performance and thanked the
ladies for bringing them great honour.
"We want the best for Sunshine Queens. "I’m so proud of
your outstanding performance and I want to thank you all
for justifying the investment of the Ondo State Government
in the team,” said Mimiko.
“We promised to celebrate success and that's why we
organised a state dinner for the golden Sunshine Queens. I
thank the wonderful people of Ondo state for the massive
support for the Sunshine Queens." he said.
