Sebastian Giovinco wins MLS Golden Boot

The former Juventus star netted 22 times and
racked up 16 assists in his debut season in MLS,
beating Kei Kamara, La Galaxy's Robbie Keane and
New York's David Villa to the honour

Toronto FC star Sebastian Giovinco has won Major League
Soccer's Golden Boot award in what was a historic debut
season for the forward.

The Italian netted 22 times in his first season with TFC, good
enough to finish the year tied on goals scored with
Columbus Crew forward Kei Kamara, with the former
Juventus star earning the top honors on a tiebreaker for
having more assists.

Giovinco also led the league in that category, racking up 16
assists and setting a league record for combined goals and
assists (38) while also leading TFC to its first playoff berth.

The LA Galaxy's Robbie Keane (20), New York City FC's
David Villa (18) and Orlando City rookie Cyle Larin (17) round
out the top five scorers in the league this season.
