Wikki Tourists captain Mustapha Ibrahim has blamed the
pitch for his side 2-0 loss to Enyimba in Aba on Sunday.
Coach Abdul Maikaba's men were caged by Chinedu Udoji's
double at the Enyimba International Stadium, but defender
Ibrahim feels the playing surface did not help matter.
"It is very unfortunate because we played well but loss to
them for some reasons. First, we played against the referee
and also, the field was not a good one to play football,"
Ibrahim told Goal.
"The fields really affected us in terms of play and cohesion
as we could not play our normal game.”
On their shaky dreams for the Nigeria's topflight title, the
former youth international insists their hopes are still alive
and has assured the fans his teammates will bring them
great honour.
"No, don't even mention that because we still have chance
to fulfill our dreams.
“My message to our fans is to remain patience as we would
bring the league title to Bauchi," he concluded.
