Battling Bayelsa United ensured that Enyimba never got their desired victory after holding them to a 1-1 draw at the Oghara Township Stadium on Saturday in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Week 23 tie.
The Aba giants scored the curtain raiser of the match through Sikiru Kamal - his strike for Enyimba since he joined the club last season but they couldn’t protect their lead after they allowed the hosts get the leveler.
Enyimba are still on top of the league table with 42 points from 23 matches but the log will change on Sunday evening if Sunshine Stars beat Giwa FC in Akure.
The Akure Gunners are yet to drop a point at home this season.
Bayelsa United on their part must hope for a miracle to stay in the elite division beyond this season as they are 19th on the log with 21 points from 23 matches.
