The defending champions of the Federation Cup have expressed their desire to win the competition again this year as the Round of 64 matches hold across the country next week.
Enyimba chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu has disclosed that the People’s Elephant are targeting a third straight Federation Cup title after the club was paired with Nasarawa Feeders in the Round of 64 slated for Oshogbo on May 13.The Aba giants won the two previous editions of the competition after victories over Warri Wolves and Dolphins respectively in the finals.
Anyansi-Agwu has reiterated the team’s desire to lift the title for an unprecedented third straight time.
“We are the team to beat. We know that the competition will be keen this time around but we shall be ready for all our opponents as we work towards winning the crown again. We won’t be underrating any team at all and a tie with the Feeders club of Nasarawa United FC would be the stepping stone towards another wonderful run in the Federation Cup this year,” Anyansi-Agwu toldGoal.
The Nigeria Football Federation made known the venues for all 32 matches of the Round of 64 of the Men’s Federation Cup competition, as well as the two first round matches of the women’s competition.
