Jordan Henderson signs new five-year contract at Liverpool

Liverpool have handed Jordan Henderson a £100,000-a-week contract and he’s expected to take the captain’s armband from Steven Gerrard in the summer.
The England midfielder, whose contract ran out at the end of next season, had been locked in talks for months.

Henderson was signed by Damien Comolli when Liverpool Legend Kenny Dalglish was coach in 2011. The 24-year-old has gone on to score even goals in 49 games for the Reds this season
Henderson said: “I’m over the moon that it¹s all done just so I can concentrate on the future and what needs to be done now.
“For me, it was just a case of leaving it to the club and my agent to sort it out.
“I always said that I wanted to stay at Liverpool and there was no other club that I would go to.
“I wanted to commit my future and it was just a matter of time for my agent and the club to sort it out.

“Thankfully, today it¹s all done.”
