Arsenal activate Jamie Vardy release clause

Arsenal are on the verge of making their second signing of the summer after activating the release clause in Jamie Vardy's contract.

The Gunners have set their sights on bringing in a top-class striker after learning that Danny Welbeck will miss nine months due to injury.

Vardy scored 24 goals in the Premier League last season to lead Leicester City to their first Premier League title.

According to Goal, a buy-out fee of around £20 million has been triggered.
