Chelsea StarBoy Lewis Baker wins Toulon Tournament’s Golden Boot


The midfielder finished the competition with four goals after finding the net in Sunday's final victory over France,while fellow scorer Loftus-Cheek took second place Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker won the Toulon Tournament’s Golden Boot as England beat France in Sunday’s final.

Baker opened the scoring after just nine minutes before his Chelsea team-mate Ruben Loftus-Cheek added a second shortly before half-time.

Abdou Diallo netted a late goal for France but Gareth Southgate’s men were able to hold out for the victory.

Baker finished the tournament with four goals, one clear of Loftus-Cheek and two ahead of France striker Sehrou Guirassy.

Baker is the first Englishman to finish as the Toulon Tournament’s top goalscorer since Emile Heskey in 1998.

Also among the tournament’s previous Golden Boot winners are Thierry Henry, Nuno Gomes, Alan Shearer, Rui Costa, Djibril Cisse and Kevin Gameiro.

Baker returns to Chelsea this summer having just spent the season on loan in the Eredivisie with Vitesse.
