The away side had the chance to level matters but they missed a spot kick of their own in the first stanza.
The home side controlled the match following the missed penalty by the away team and could have went further ahead in the first shalf.
Ladan Bosso's team offered very little as an attacking threat and they found themselves two goals behind just before the hour mark when Anthony Okpotu fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner after Yahaya was sent off.

Chances were limited in the second half but the home fans had something to cheer as Gata was once again on target,
The former Kogi United forward poked home and gave Dami no chance to hand his team their first win of the season.

Warri Wolves 0-0 Enugu Rangers

The two teams played with their regulars in the four-goal thriller.
The first 45 minutes ended with Heartland holding on tenaciously while the home team left the pitch with much to think of after being bundled out of the CAF Confederation Cup by Vita Mokanda last weekend.
On resumption of the second half, the hosts rose gallantly and drew the curtain raiser through Aniekan Ekpe in the 59th minute of play.
One minute later, the Naze Millionaires levelled matters with Onyebuchi Ajunwa netting for them.
Kufre Ebong and Ibeh Michael would later rub salt in the wounds of the visitors when they scored in the 80th and 90th minute for the Promise Keepers.
The win is Akwa United's first of the season while Heartland are still searching for their first win in the four week old Nigeria Professional Football League.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah 3-1 Shooting Stars

FC Ifeanyi Ubah continued to push themselves forward as genuine title contenders with a 3-1 win against Shooting Stars Sports Club.
Brazilian import Albérico Barbosa Da Silva showed class with a man-of-the-match performance at the Rojenny International Stadium.
A goal each from Da Silva, Kofi Nti and Seka Pascal condemned the visitors to their second league defeat of the season.
The home team dominated the early exchanges and should have been 2-0 up inside seven minutes.
Da Silva twice came close to breaking the deadlock.
He was then rewarded for his doggedness as he gave the hosts the lead from a well taken free kick, making it his first goal of the season.
In the 37th minute the score line was 2-0. A neat cutback from Suleiman Mohammed found Nti who beat Emmanuel Fabiyi with his fierce drive, Emmanuel made it 2-0 much to the delight of the home fans.
Pascal put the icing on the cake with the third goal of the day from Da Silva's corner kick one minute to the end of the first half.
The away team nearly pulled one back through Wasiu Jimoh in the 58th minute, but despite series of pressure mounted by them they failed to add to their tally in the second half.

Abia Warriors 0-0 Kano Pillars

Abia Warriors and Kano Pillars played out a 0-0 draw at the Umuahia Township Stadium in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

After four round of matches, Abia Warriors have amassed a total of eight points while Pillars have seven points from the same number of games.

MFM FC 2-1 Sunshine Stars

MFM FC ran out 2-1 winners over ten-man Sunshine Stars at the Agege Township Stadium.
The result has further put questions marks on the ambitions of the Owena Waves after a stuttering start to the season.
A quite start to the game MFM happy to build up patiently from the back, despite failing to find any penetration inside the Sunshine Stars' half
A encounter was finally brought to life in the 25th minute when MFM broke the deadlock through Musa Newman.
The former Sunshine Stars player was given too much space in a central position inside the box and was able to pick his spot with an accurate curling drive into the bottom corner of the net.
MFM's goal was reward for their patience but in the 35th minute Sunshine Stars were back in the game.
Samad Kadiri was at alert to net from Stanley Dimgba's pass.
The game resumed in the second half with the two teams searching for the match winner.
There was however an 86th minute chance which Stephen Odey took, a goal which broke the heart of Sunshine Stars faithfuls.
Sunshine Stars skipper Abe Sunday was given the marching orders in the 90th minute of the game.

Giwa FC 2-1 Rivers United

Giwa FC finally registered their first maximum points of the season courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Rivers United at the Rwang Pam Stadium
A goal each from Moses Opitoke and Sunday David proved too much for the Pride of Rivers, who pulled one back through Godbless Asamoah.
The Jos Elephants went ahead in the 8th minute from Opitoke's effort.
Giwa FC doubled their lead eighteen minutes from time as Sunday turned home the ball from close range.
The away team did manage to find a goal when Asamoah scored in the dying minutes of the game.
