Barcelona have decided not to try to sign Paul Pogba
despite the midfielder's decision to stay at Juventus last
summer to wait for a move to Camp Nou, according to
Mundo Deportivo .
The Catalans had a bid for the France international rejected
last summer and were expected to come calling for him
again at the end of the current campaign.
However, they have set aside €65 million (£50m) for
investment in their squad for next season and that will not
be enough to land Pogba, who is an €80m (£62m) target of
Chelsea and Manchester City.
Furthermore, Barca believe they are in more urgent need of
reinforcements in defence and attack and are happy with
their strength in depth in midfield.
Zinedine Zidane will reportedly urge the Real Madrid
hierarchy to splash out on his compatriot Pogba as a more
realistic marquee signing than Neymar.
