Liverpool Fans Protest on Ticket Prices

Liverpool fans staged a mass walk-out in the 77th minute of their 2-2 draw against Sunderland to protest changes to ticket prices at Anfield.

The Reds revealed earlier this week that the most expensive ticket in their redeveloped main stand will cost £77 from the beginning of the 2016-17 season.

As a result, supporters group Spion Kop 1906 called for fans to stage a protest - the first walk-out in the club's history - and received the backing of another collective, Spirit of Shankly.

A number of fans subsequently left their seats with 13 minutes remaining, with the Reds holding a 2-0 lead before a. late capitulation after the mass exit saw them forced to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre expressed his surprise at the protest on Friday and argued there was "something for everyone" within the new pricing structure.
