Supporters are planning to leave Anfield on 77 minutes in objection to ticket prices for the 2016-17 season, but the club's CEO insists there are seats affordable to everyone.
Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre has revealed he is "surprised" by the planned fan protest in response to the
club’s ticket prices for next season.
Supporters' group Spion Kop 1906 are organising a walkout
during Saturday's Premier League clash with Sunderland at
Anfield and are calling on those on the terraces to leave their
seats on 77 minutes in a show of solidarity against the new
cost structure.
The significance of the 77th minute is that the most
expensive tickets in the redeveloped Main Stand for 2016-17
are set at £77, up from £59.
It will be the first walkout protest in the club's history, but
Ayre insists Liverpool have created a pricing plan that "has
something for everyone, which is the objective we set out
with."
He highlighted that 64% of season ticket prices will decrease
or freeze and maintained that "no-one is being priced out of
the stadium" and "there is a seat for everyone at the right
