Barcelona star Lionel Messi sent a message of solidarity to Argentine club Huracan, whose players were injured after their team bus was overturned following a Copa Libertadores match in Venezuela.
Patricio Toranzo and Diego Mendoza both sustained injuries, with the former having come close to requiring partial amputation of four toes. A source confirmed to Goal Argentina, however, that the 33-year-old will be able to play again.
An Argentina native, Messi took to Facebook to express his support for the team. He said:
"To Huracan FC, stay strong! I support you, your players and coach team, especially Pato Toranzo, Diego Mendoza and Pablo Santella, I wish for you to get well soon. Hugs for all of you".
Messi later deleted the post.
