Lazio have not agreed to the €60 million (£47m) sale of Felipe Andersonto Manchester United despite reports to the contrary, the club have confirmed.
Quotes attributed to president Claudio Lotito surfaced on Monday which suggested a deal for the Brazilian to move to Old Trafford was agreed, with the Serie A side set to make a huge profit.
But the Italian club have reacted quickly to rubbish the reports and say any quotes from Lotito on the imminent departure of Anderson to United are pure fabrication.

A statement on their website says: "In reference to statements attributed to President Claudio Lotito regarding the alleged sale of the player Felipe Anderson, S.S. Lazio notes that these reports are devoid of any foundation."
Despite being linked with a move to Old Trafford since last summer, and in spite of a rumoured January bid from United, the Brazilian winger has so far stayed put in the Italian capital.
However, sporting director Igli Tare admitted last week that Lazio should have sold Anderson to United in the winter transfer window, fuelling speculation that the move could be reignited.
Unfortunately for United fans, though, the supposed quotes from Lotito of a done deal appear to be an elaborate hoax and Louis van Gaal - if he is still at the club - will have to wait a while longer to finally get his man.
Anderson has not quite hit the heights he reached last season, when he scored 10 goals and assisted a further seven, having scored or created just eight goals in 24 appearances in the 2015-16 Serie A campaign.
