EPL RE CAP: Leicester open A Six point Gap At Top; Totheham move to Second

The early kick off at the Etihad saw Goals from the German defender and Riyad Mahrez saw Claudio Ranieri's side send out a title message to their rivals with an emphatic victory at the Etihad Stadium.

Leicester City took a significant step in their sensational bid for the Premier League title with a ruthless 3-1 win at Manchester City.

The home team were favourites to replace Leicester at the summit at kick-off, ambitions that were soon dented when Robert Huth handed Leicester a second-minute lead at the Etihad Stadium.

At Villa Park, Remi Garde's men remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table but have cut the gap to the Canaries with a promising victory over Alex Neil's men.

Aston Villa gave their slim Premier League survival hopes a huge boost with a 2-0 home win against relegation rivals Norwich City on Saturday.

Meanwhile, at Anfield Stadium Roberto Firmino provided a goal and assist as the hosts looked to be cruising to an easy win before Adam Johnson and Jermain Defoe struck back in the final stages.

Liverpool collapsed from a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Premier League strugglers Sunderland on Saturday.

At St. James' Park The struggling Magpies climbed out of the bottom three thanks to a narrow victory over Tony Pulis' side, with the striker scoring the only goal of the game.

Newcastle gave their survival hopes a huge boost with a 1-0 victory over West Brom at St James’ Park thanks to Aleksandar Mitrovic’s first-half goal.

Else where, Britannia Stadium saw Roberto Martinez's men wrapped up the victory in
the first half for a second Premier League win in a
row, with Seamus Coleman and Aaron Lennon
adding to Lukaku's early penalty.

Stoke City's troubling recent form persisted in suitably miserable conditions at the Britannia Stadium, as free- scoring Everton ran riot in a 3-0 Premier League victory.

Also, Premium points were on offer in south Wales but neither side were able to grab a much-needed
maximum haul after goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson
and Scott Dann leveled the match.

Scott Dann headed a second-half equaliser as Crystal
Palace ended a five-match losing run away to Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday.

And  Mauricio Pochettino's men took full advantage of Manchester City's defeat to Leicester as they ran
out narrow winners over Quique Sanchez Flores's
resolute Hornets.

Kieran Trippier's second-half goal gave a dominant
Tottenham a 1-0 win over Watford at White Hart Lane on Saturday and moved Mauricio Pochettino's men into second-place in the Premier League.

Finally, The Saints were forced to play almost the whole of the second period with 10 men but still managed to claim all three points against Slaven Bilic's in-form Hammers.

Maya Yoshida's early goal was enough to earn
Southampton a 1-0 win over West Ham at St Mary's
Stadium on Saturday, as the hosts held on with 10 men.
