Egypt will face 2013 Africa Cup of Nations runners-up Burkina Faso in an international friendly on February in the Borg El-Arab Stadium, the Egyptian Football Association has confirmed.
The decision was taken on Wednesday by the Egyptian football board as they help the Pharaohs prepare for their crunch Afcon qualifier against the Super Eagles on March 26.
According to the EFA chairman, Gamal Allam, the game will be watched by only 3,000 supporters before heading for Nigeria.
Hector Cuper’s men lead Group G with six points from two games, and a result against Sunday Oliseh’s men in Kaduna will put them in pole position to qualify for the 2017 African football showpiece billed for Gabon having missed out of the last three editions.
The Egyptians under Cuper have been promising, winning three, losing once in four competitive games, and also won four of five friendly matches.
