Manchester United agreed the deal to sign David De Gea from Atletico Madrid almost a year prior to the completion of the transfer, according to leaked documents published by Football Leaks.
The Spain international swapped the Vicente Calderon for Old Trafford in June 2011 but a transfer agreement dated October 28, 2010, shows that United had already put an €18 million deal in place.
But a subsequent letter, dated June 23, 2011, revealed a change in transfer agreement which meant United actually spent €17,125,000 on De Gea in a one-off sum.

The leaked information claims that United agreed to shell out €500k for every 25 appearances made by De Gea, which runs up to 100 matches.
United also have to pay Atletico €250k each time they reach the Champions League group stages, and also if they reach the last 16 and for every quarter-final appearance.
De Gea was on the cusp of returning to Spain but to Atletico's bitter rivals, Real, last summer, only for a deal between them and United to fall through at the final hurdle.
The leaked documents also claim that Atletico will receive €5m if United sell De Gea before June 30, 2016.

Atletico also have a clause which entitles them to €1m every time United win the Premier League with De Gea, which was the case when they lifted their 20th crown in 2012.
