Dele Alli equals Jack Wilshere's goal haul

The Tottenham starlet has enjoyed a breakout season in his first campaign in the Premier League and has already matched his north London rival after netting against NorwichTottenham wonderkid Dele Alli racked up his seventh Premier League goal of the season on Tuesday night, meaning he has now matched Jack Wilshere's career goal haul despite playing 78 fewer games.

The two north London rivals could soon be vying against one another for a starting spot in Roy Hodgson's England midfield for Euro 2016, assuming Wilshere can shake off the latest injury problems that are hampering his involvement.

But Alli looks like the clear favourite to don the Three Lions jersey in France this summer, having bagged his seventh goal of the season - a run that has seen him have a hand in 10 goals in his last 13 outings in all competitions.

Alli took barely two minutes to net against Norwich, following on from strikes against Leicester City, in just his second appearance for Spurs, Aston Villa, West Brom, Southampton, Everton and Crystal Palace last time out.

Wilshere, meanwhile, has just six Premier League goals for Arsenal, plus another one while on loan at Bolton in 2009-10, and has only scored in one of his 28 outings for England (an international tally Alli has already matched).

In fact, Alli's impact has been so remarkable that he has now netted more goals than any other Under-21 player in the Premier League this season, and has already broken the record for the most goals by a 19-year-old.

Frank Lampard had held the record for the most prolific season by a 19-year-old midfielder, having netted five times in the 1997-98 campaign while with West Ham.

Lampard is not the only England legend Alli has already out-scored despite his tender years, bettering the tallies of Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes, David Beckham and Steven Gerrard already - they have 20 Premier League titles between them!

Unfortunately for Alli, he will not have the chance to surpass Wilshere's record against Norwich after he was withdrawn at half-time due to feeling unwell, with Nacer Chadli replacing him at Carrow Road.
