Valdes happy to complete Standard Liege move

Manchester United outcast Victor Valdes has taken to
Twitter to announce his delight at sealing a loan move to
Standard Liege.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper has endured a torrid time
with the Red Devils, having been frozen out of the squad
without a number by Louis van Gaal after his refusal to
represent the Under-21 side.

I'm very proud to be part of Standard de Liege !

But the nightmare is over, at least temporarily, as the Old
Trafford side announced the Spaniard's six-month loan deal
with the Belgian side on Sunday.

Doubt has been cast over whether Valdes will recieve a
warm reception at his new club, however, with winger
Mathieu Dossevi boldly stating that the Champions League
winner is surplus to requirements.

The 34-year-old, whose contract with Manchester United
runs out in the summer, will be a free agent again in June.
