Seung-Woo Lee cleared to play for Barcelona

Barcelona's South Korean hotshot Seung-Woo Lee has
returned to La Masia after spending several months in his
home country due to Fifa regulations banning the
registration of under-18s in the club's youth squads.

The Juvenil A player was unable to take the field for two
years, but has now turned 18 and is clear to sign for
whichever club he pleases. And that club will be none other
than Barcelona.

The Blaugrana, however, have warned that before he pulls
on the famous shirt Lee will have to show he is in condition
to play after such a lengthy lay-off, and if necessary will
start a special training regime to avoid injury on his
comeback. The Korean starlet has only featured with his
nation's U-17 division, where he was far from his best due
to the lack of playing time.

But it is surely only a matter of time before he is back in
form. Two days ago in Seoul airport, the youngster bid
farewell to his native land while assuring that his Barca
return was "a new beginning, I will try to give my best."

"Spending three years in the wilderness should not prove an
obstacle, because I will try and avoid impatience."

Lee added that he was still not sure if he would return to the
Juvenil A youth team, or if he would be moved up to
Barcelona B.

According to Goal the first he will join the
ranks of the former, but that both Gerard Lopez, B team
coach, and Luis Enrique himself will be keeping a close eye
on his movements.

"Lee has had some problems, going through a situation
similar to that of Seung Ho Paik, who trained with us
following an extremely unfair punishment," Enrique
explained.

"It is crucial these players have the chance to practice the
sport they love at the level Barcelona offers them."

It is unlikely Lee will be ready to play this coming weekend,
meaning that barring any inconveniences his re-appearance
will more realistically occur at home against Cornella. The
forward cannot wait to return, and has shown his excitement
on the social networks, congratulating himself for coming of
age.

In just a handful of days we will see him in action again. He
will start in the Juvenil A but the team will not try to hold
him back, and it would not be a surprise to see him in the B
ranks in the near-future - or, who knows, even in the first
team.
