Manchester United are preparing to trigger Neymar's £140
million release clause in the summer, according to a report
published in the Daily Star.
United have struggled for inspiration in attack thus far in the
2015-16 season and, with the Barcelona forward's
contract negotiations continuing to drag, believe they can
seal a deal to take him to Old Trafford.
The report suggests that United had already discussed a
move to England with the Brazilian's representatives in the
summer of 2014 and are now convinced they can get the
transfer over the line.
The Daily Star claims that the Red Devils are happy to play
the waiting game over the 23-year-old's potential signing
and will attempt to make him their marquee signing of the
2016 summer transfer window.
