Southampton have confirmed that they have signed striker
Charlie Austin from QPR.
The striker has signed a deal until 2020 with Ronald
Koeman's outfit after an undisclosed fee was agreed.
Austin bagged 18 goals in the Premier League last season
with relegated QPR last term, and Southampton hope he can
now reinvigorate their fortunes after a difficult period of
form.
“Whilst we are sorry to lose Charlie, once he expressed an
interest in moving to Southampton, we could not stand in his
way," QPR director of football Les Ferdinand said in a
statement.

The Saints are looking for new forward options to offer
competition to regulars Graziano Pelle and Shane Long, who
have not found the back of the net with the same
consistency as they did last season.
Sadio Mane's uncertain future at St Mary's Stadium also
forced the port club to take action in the transfer window.
