club have agreed a deal to sign Wolves striker Benik Afobe.
The deal for the 22-year-old, who has scored nine goals in
the Championship this season, is believed to be in the region
of £10 million - a club-record fee for Bournemouth.
"A deal has been agreed, there are still hurdles for us to
overcome but we hope he'll sign in time for Tuesday night,”
said Howe.
"He'll bring strength, power and hopefully goals. We'll be
excited to see him for Bournemouth if the deal gets
completed."
Afobe joined Wolves from Arsenal in January 2015 having
never made a senior appearance for Arsene Wenger's side.
The forward scored 13 goals in 21 league games for Wolves
last season and was subsequently called into Gareth
Southgate's England Under-21s side for last summer's
European Championship as a late replacement for Saido
Berahino, although he didn't made an appearance at the
tournament.
Bournemouth have already agreed a deal to sign Roma
forward Juan Iturbe on loan for the rest of the season.
