Jamie Vardy’s incredible run of goal scoring form continued
as Leicester City beat Watford 2-1 in the Premier League on
Saturday.
The England striker struck from the penalty spot in the win
and he has now scored in nine consecutive league games —
just one short of the record held by Ruud van Nistelrooy
(10).
Claudio Ranieri’s side had opened the scoring in the 53rd
minute when Ngolo Kante scored his first goal for the club.
A Troy Deeney penalty set up a nervy ending for the home
side, but they managed to hold on to pick up all three points
and move level with Manchester City and Arsenal at the top
of the table.
