360 Official:-: Aston Villa names Garde as new manager

The 49-year-old replaces Tim Sherwood, who was
sacked last week, and is tasked with dragging the
club off the bottom of the Premier League table
Aston Villa have officially announced the appointment of
former Lyon boss Remi Garde as their new manager.

The 49-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the
2018/19 season and replaces Tim Sherwood, who was
sacked last week.

Garde faces the most difficult task of his career, with the
club sat bottom of the Premier League having picked up just
four points from their opening 10 games.

However, the Frenchman is relishing the challenge and told
the club's official website: "It is an unbelievable honour to be
the manager of such an illustrious football club.

"I've had extremely positive meetings with both the owner,
Randy Lerner, and chief executive Tom Fox. They have
ambitious plans for the club and I'm excited that they have
turned to me to help them realise them.

"Obviously we have a difficult task in front of us but I'm
looking forward to the challenge with the support of
everyone who loves Aston Villa."
