England midfielder Michael Carrick has withdrawn from the national squad due to injury, the national team have announced.
Having been left on the bench for the 6-0 win over San Marino, the 34-year-old man was tipped to feature in the Three Lions' upcoming clash with Switzerland, but now returns to Old Trafford with Jonjo Shelvey likely to make the cut instead.
