Tigres’ Ikechukwu Uche has lauded his team despite their 3-0 defeat to Argentina’s Riverplate in the final of the 2015 played at the Estadio Antonio Vespucio Liberti in Buenos Aires.

The former Villareal striker watched the game from the stands as he is still out owing to a knee  injury.

Goals from Lucas Alario, Carlos Sanchez and Ramiro Funes Mori gave Los Millonarios their third Copa Libertadores triumph after the first leg in Monterrey ended scoreless.

“Despite the loss, I’m proud to be part of this team.” Uche tweeted.

The match was scrappy with 44 fouls and nine yellow cards, but River were superior throughout in constant rain and heavy conditions at the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires.
