Manchester United's 100 per cent record in the Premier League this season came to an end as they were held to a goalless draw byNewcastle United.
United had the better start as Tim Krul saved well from Juan Mata, though Aleksandar Mitrovic did see a header come back off the crossbar for the visitors.
The Red Devils continued to dominate after the break, and substitute Javier Hernandez almost broke the deadlock as Krul saved with his feet.
But Louis van Gaal's side could not find a way through as Chris Smalling hit the post with a header in the final minute.
