Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal says the arrival of Danilo has motivated him to improve ahead of next season.
Madrid signed the 24-year-old from Porto in April for a reported fee of €25 million.
Danilo replaced Carvajal at half-time in a 4-1 victory over Manchester City in the International Champions Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Whilst Madrid's dominance ensured both players had a quiet evening, Danilo nevertheless looked assured alongside his new team-mates.

But rather than fear the fresh competition for the right-back slot, Carvajal believes it will improve the quality of the team.
“It’s one more challenge [for me],” the 23-year-old admitted.
“But it’s a motivation for me to improve daily. Danilo is one of the best defenders in the world.
“He’s a great kid and he’s fun to be around. He is a huge asset and that is why they brought him in, so that we can compete for the [full-back] position and (help) Madrid win a title.”
Madrid's pre-season preparations now shift to China for matches against AC Milan and Inter.
