The Swans are keen to keep the centre-back after tying him down to a new contract last summer, but Alan Pardew has made the Welshman one of his top targets this window
Crystal Palace are in talks to try to land Swansea Citycaptain Ashley Williams.
Alan Pardew is looking to bolster his Eagles squad and he has highlighted a number of players, one of whom is Williams, to aid their goal for a top-half finish in next season's Premier League.
Swansea have always insisted that they do not want to lose their skipper, who turns 31 later this year, and they handed him a new four-year deal last summer.
However, Palace feel that they have a shot at luring the Wales captain away from the Valleys and have opened dialogue with the Swans.
The Eagles know that they are likely to have to break their transfer record, which currently stands at £7 million (€9.8m), to land Williams.
