Floyd Mayweather confirmed his status as the best fighter in boxing after a masterful points win over Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas.

The American star dictated the fight with his superior ring skills to earn a unanimous verdict with scores of 118-110, 116-112 and 116-112, extending his unbeaten record to 48 fights.

Heralded by weeks of hype, this battle between the sport's two biggest stars had been billed as the 'Fight of the Century', but Mayweather simply used the 12 rounds to supply a masterclass to the watching world.

Mr Bee agrees Milan deal

The Thai businessman has announced that he has agreed a deal in principle to buy a stake in the Rossoneri.

Bee Taechaubol has agreed a deal in principle to buy a significant share in AC Milan.

The Thai businessman had been in talks this week with club president Silvio Berlusconi and has now reached an agreement with the Rossoneri's parent company, Fininvest.

A statement from Mr Bee on Saturday read:

"I am very much looking forward to being a part of AC Milan’s history. It is a legendary club with a huge following worldwide, including in my country. If you walk around the streets of Bangkok, you will see countless Rossonero shirts. To be a part of the club is an honour, and a dream come true.

“This is a sound investment, and I am looking forward to tremendous success on all fronts with AC Milan. Once we have concluded the deal, we will roll up our sleeves and get to work. The club is not where it should be: fighting for the Serie A title, and in the final stages of the Champions League.

"With hard work, dedicated management and wise investment I am confident we can bring back the glory and trophies that AC Milan fans expect.

“I’d like to thank everyone in Italy for the way we have been received: Mr. Berlusconi, his family, and the Fininvest team have all been very welcoming. I’d also like to thank the Italian journalists for their patience, and most of all, the AC Milan fans.

The company that control Berlusconi's financial interests, Fininvest, released a statement stressing the Italian politician remains at the helm of the San Siro club.
"The meeting in Milan with Mr. Bee was positive," the company said. "They discussed issues central to the future of the club; for example, the promotion and marketing of the brand in Asian countries.

"The collaboration proposal - yet to be decided upon in many ways - suggests an acquisition will be made by Mr Bee's financial consortium for a minority stake in the club. AC Milan remains firmly in the hands of Silvio Berlusconi and Fininvest."

It is not yet clear whether the purchase will see Taechaubol replace Berlusconi, who has been the owner of Milan since February 1986, as a majority shareholder in the long-term.

Obinna Nwobodo ruled out of Fifa U20 World Cup

The Flying Eagles midfielder will not be representing the country at the 2015 Fifa U20 World Cup in New Zealand owing to injury.

The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that Obinna Nwobodo will miss the 2015 U20 World Cup billed for New Zealand.

The Enugu Rangers midfielder who was named on a provisional 35-man squad for the World Cup suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the final of the 2015 African Youth Championship, and will be out for as long as nine months.

The NFF said on their website that they are working with the National Sports Commission to ensure the player is treated abroad.

The Rangers attacking midfielder was named man of the match for the Flying Eagles semifinal win over Ghana at the AYC after he opened scoring with a header off a corner.

He also delivered two assists in a 2-2 draw with Cote d’Ivoire in a group game in Mbour.

LaLiga: Sevilla 2-3 Real Madrid: Remarkable Ronaldo hat-trick keeps pressure on Barcelona

The Portuguese netted a terrific treble as Carlo Ancelotti's men withstood a late onslaught to move back to within two points of Liga leaders Barcelona.

Cristiano Ronaldo's fifth La Liga hat-trick of the season gave Real Madrid a vital 3-2 victory over Sevilla on SAturday.

Ronaldo, whose quick-fire double midway through the first half put Carlo Ancelotti's side in command at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, capped the treble with a terrific header after being set up by substitute Gareth Bale in the 68th minute.

Carlos Bacca pulled one back from the penalty spot for Unai Emery's side – who had earlier gone agonisingly close to taking the lead through Jose Antonio Reyes – after former Sevilla man Sergio Ramos had fouled Aleix Vidal in first-half stoppage time.

Sevilla, who face a Europa League semi-final clash with Fiorentina next week, did snatch a second through substitute Iborra, but despite a late onslaught, they were unable to prevent Real from securing a seventh consecutive league triumph.

With Barcelona having increased their lead at the top of La Liga to five points with an 8-0 demolition of Cordoba earlier on Saturday, Real got off to a positive start, with Sergio Rico pulling off a phenomenal save to prevent Ronaldo firing the visitors in front.

Sevilla, undefeated at home since a 4-1 loss to Barcelona in February 2014, were not to be outdone, however, with Iker Casillas, returning in place of Keylor Navas, having to be alert to deny Vidal.

Reyes almost nudged Sevilla in front soon after when Bacca, who scored twice last time out, played in a wonderful cross that the winger was just inches away from prodding in.

Ramos – deployed in midfield after returning from suspension – was involved in a clash of heads with Grzegorz Krychowiak soon after, with the Polish midfielder retreating to the sidelines for treatment.

And Real made the man advantage pay when, in the 36th minute, Ronaldo leapt to head home his 40th league goal of the campaign from Isco's hanging cross.

The Portuguese was on hand to double the advantage one minute later, tapping home at the back post following Javier Hernandez's flick-on.

However, Ramos' rash tackle on Vidal on the stroke of half-time gave Sevilla a golden opportunity to get back in contention and Bacca duly obliged as he converted from the spot.

Ancelotti introduced Bale – returning from injury – in place of Hernandez shortly after the hour mark and the change paid immediate dividends as the Welshman crossed to the back post, where Ronaldo executed a sublime header back across goal to seal his hat-trick in splendid fashion.

SerieA: Sampdoria 0-1 Juventus: Vidal strike clinches Serie A title

The midfielder's first half goal was enough to seal victory and a fourth consecutive league title.

An Arturo Vidal strike saw Juventus clinch the Serie A title for a fourth straight year as they beat Sampdoria 1-0 on Saturday evening.

The Chile midfielder was left unmarked to head home after 32 minutes at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and that was enough to continue Juve's domestic dominance.

Massimiliano Allegri's side now head into Tuesday's Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid with a historic treble in their sights, having already secured their place in the Coppa Italia final.

Sampdoria made a confident start to the match, with Pedro Obiang sending a blistering strike narrowly wide from the edge of the area.

Juve settled as Stefano Sturaro bustled into the box and saw an effort charged down by Matias Silvestre in the 19th minute, while Fernando Llorente blazed over on the volley before Luis Muriel failed to turn home Samuel Eto'o's cross on the break.

Vidal engineered space for a tamely hit drive in the 25th minute, but he made no mistake when the chance arrived to break the deadlock, heading Stephan Lichtsteiner's left-footed cross back across goal and in off the upright.

The hosts were forced into an early change as Vasco Regini replaced fellow left-back Djamel Mesbah, although they could have been level two minutes before the break.

The lively Muriel slid a pass through for Roberto Soriano to break into the Juventus box, but the midfielder's attempt squirmed wide of the far post - too far ahead of the on-rushing Eto'o.

Sampdoria goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano then produced a save of the highest order to keep Tevez's low strike out of the bottom corner after 58 minutes.

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci made a vital last-ditch challenge to thwart Gonzalo Bergessio at the other end, but it was a rare moment of encouragement for Sinisa Mihajlovic's team.

Viviano kept out skidding low shots from Tevez and Claudio Marchisio but it mattered little as Allegri's side saw the game out with ease to clinch yet another league title.

Luis Suarez continued his fine form with a stunning hat-trick as Barcelona took another step towards winning La Liga with an 8-0 win away at Cordoba.

The game was goalless until Ivan Rakitic’s 37th-minute opener, which saw Cordoba’s resilience quickly crumble, as Suarez made it 2-0 to the visitors soon after.

Messi added his 50th goal of the season across all competitions just after the restart and Suarez doubled his tally seven minutes later, before Gerard Pique headed in the fifth with 63 minutes played.

Messi netted his second with a tap-in 10 minutes from time, before Neymar and Suarez rounded off another stunning performance from Barca, with the Uruguayan clinching his hat-trick and relegating Cordoba in humiliating fashion.

Despite the fact Bayern Munich await in the Champions League semi-finals next week, Luis Enrique surprisingly opted against resting key players and named arguably his strongest starting XI.

The away side were in complete control of proceedings right from the start, though Cordoba initially looked resolute at the back, keeping Messi, Suarez and Neymar at bay.

Cordoba’s defence began to show signs of frailty in the 27th minute, as Messi weaved through in stunning style, skipping past four challenges before dragging a tame finish straight at Juan Carlos in the hosts’ goal.

But Barca’s patience finally paid off soon after.

Once again Messi was the architect, clipping a delightful delivery into the left side of the area for Rakitic, who brought the ball down and smashed an unstoppable half-volley into the roof of the net.

And their second followed swiftly on the stroke of half-time, Suarez racing on to Andres Iniesta’s cross and guiding the ball beyond the helpless Juan Carlos.

Messi eventually got his name on the scoresheet in the first minute of the second half, arriving late in the penalty area before guiding a precise header into the bottom-left corner.

Cordoba’s heads dropped and Barca continued to pile forward ruthlessly, opening up a four-goal lead in the 53rd minute, as Suarez glanced Dani Alves’ right-wing cross in off the post with his head.

The visitors were completely dominant and added their fifth just after the hour mark, Pique rising highest to meet Rakitic’s corner and nod in.

After a 15-minute respite for Cordoba, Messi tapped in following good work from Suarez, while Neymar netted an 85th-minute penalty after he had been hauled down.

There was still time for Suarez to add to an already embarrassing day for Cordoba, the Uruguay star knocking into an open net after pouncing on a blocked shot two minutes from time, wrapping things up and sending a warning shot to Bayern.

Swansea overcame a lacklustre first-half display to earn a deserved a 2-0 win over Stoke City at the Liberty Stadium.

Goals from Jefferson Montero and Ki Sung-yueng secured all three points for the Swans, while Marc Wilson was sent off late on for Stoke after receiving a second yellow card.

It was a forgettable affair for long spells but the win solidifies Swansea’s hold on eighth spot as they move six points clear of Stoke in ninth, the Welsh club on course for their highest-ever Premier League finish.

Poor execution in the final third was a feature of the first half as both teams struggled to break each other down.

Swansea’s best move of the half came in the 42nd minute when Montero found the overlapping Neil Taylor down the left and the Welsh defender whipped in a cross which Dyer layed off to Shelvey on the edge of the box but his shot is straight at Butland.

Stoke came very close to opening the scoring just before the break when Steven N'Zonzi neatly evaded Gylfi Sigurdsson’s tackle on the edge of the box before curling a shot towards the top corner which Lukasz Fabianski did well to tip over.

Garry Monk: Praised his side's second-half performance

Garry Monk must not have been impressed with his side’s first-half efforts because Swansea came out with much greater purpose for the second half.

They almost took an immediate lead when Angel Rangel drove into the box from the right flank and laid the ball off to Sigurdsson but his curling shot from the edge of the box cannoned off the crossbar.

Sigurdsson missed a gilt-edged opportunity moments later when Nathan Dyer made a driving run down the right and clipped a cross in from the byline which the Iceland international somehow managed to head over from six yards out when completely unmarked.

Swansea continued to press and they finally made the breakthrough on 76 minutes thanks to some great play from Jonjo Shelvey.

Mark Hughes: Felt the scoreline was an unfair reflection of the game

The former Liverpool man did well to keep the ball in down the right before stepping inside Erik Pieters and sending an inviting cross to the back post with his left foot which Montero was on hand to nod home.

Peter Crouch and Peter Odenwingie were introduced for Stoke soon after as Mark Hughes’ side pushed for an equaliser.

But they were made to pay by Swansea as they were caught high up the pitch and Wilson was forced to hack down Montero as he was through on goal to earn himself a second yellow.

Swansea wrapped up all three points in added time when Shelvey found space in the inside left channel and laid the ball off for Ki to sidefoot past Jack Butland.

“First half wasn’t very good – both teams - there wasn’t a lot to shout about. It was a lot better in the second half. This Swansea team have got a lot of good players, Sigurdsson and Shelvey. It got going in the second half. This is 53 points for this team, for Garry Monk. It’s been a very, very good season. The first goal was brilliant, Jonjo Shelvey is the creative brilliance in this side.

“It took until the 92nd minute before they wrapped it up. Ki is in great goalscoring form, and he just sidefooted it past Butland.

“Jonjo Shelvey is learning to play. I think it was earlier in the season when Garry Monk had words with him, or told the media, and said he needs to grow up in a football sense. He seems to have taken that on; he was always trying a Hollywood ball, a 50-yard ball. He makes this team tick.

“The second half just wasn’t enough from this Stoke side. They tried bringing Odemwingie on, Crouch came on, but it just wasn’t enough.”

EPL: Leicester 3-0 Newcastle: Leonardo Ulloa double moves Foxes clear of relegation

Leonardo Ulloa: Celebrates opening the scoring against Newcastle

Leicester City recorded their biggest win of the season to move further away from the relegation zone but dragged crisis club Newcastle deeper into trouble with a 3-0 win at the King Power Stadium.

Leonardo Ulloa struck twice and Wes Morgan was also on target as the Foxes maintained their survival charge against a freefalling and disjointed Magpies side, who finished with nine men after Mike Williamson and Daryl Janmaat saw red.

John Carver’s men have now lost their last eight Premier League encounters in a row to remain in peril, still five points from safety, but with now only three games left to play this season.

Nigel Pearson's side, meanwhile, shrugged off a midweek defeat to Chelsea - as well as their manager's now-infamous 'ostrich' rant at a journalist - are three points ahead of Sunderland in the drop zone, albeit having played two more matches than the Wearsiders.

The Foxes were on the front foot from the off, immediately earning a corner from which Ulloa rose highest at the near post, powering Marc Albrighton’s inch-perfect left-wing delivery past a helpless Tim Krul with just 37 seconds on the clock.

And it did not take Leicester long to move further ahead, Albrighton again the provider with another dangerous delivery from the left which Morgan, just onside, stretched to get a touch past Krul (17).

The Magpies were toothless in attack in the opening period, the closest they came to testing Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel being Emmanuel Riviere’s clever turn and shot from the left-hand corner of the box that flew inches past the Dane’s near post.

But whatever words Carver had for his bedraggled players at the break – and they must have been strong ones – were forgotten three minutes into the second half when Riviere clumsily pushed Marcin Wasilewski in the box following another dangerous looking Albrighton corner, referee Mike Dean having little option but to point to the spot.

Ulloa kept his cool to thump the resultant penalty high past Krul, and when the experienced Williamson proceeded to pick up two bookings in the space of a little over five minutes, Newcastle heads began to drop.

The visitors were fortunate, though, that Pearson opted to rest some of his key men in the closing stages otherwise they could have suffered an even heavier defeat, but their goal difference is now the second worst in the top flight.

Schmeichel was called upon late on to save from Siem de Jong but Newcastle went down with a whimper and were spared further blushes when Jamie Vardy headed wide in injury time.

But there was more misery before the whistle when Janmaat received his marching orders in second-half stoppage time after picking up a needless second booking, the Dutchman - like Williamson - now suspended for next week's visit of West Brom.
